Gavin's Special Day!!!

Today was a special day for "Gavin Thomas Scheurn"!!
Today Gavin walked into the waters of baptism! Gavin turned eight years old on July 26, 2010!
As I walked into the church, Gavin met me to explain what was going to happen on this special day! He was so excited! He said "Granny I am getting baptized! He was so happy!!
He was well prepared as his Stake president and Bishop asked him many questions ! I know for sure that Gavin knew the importance of this day! When you look at Gavin's face you can see the special sweet spirit he is!
This summer there were several nights Gavin was able to send the night at Granny and Pops's house! We always enjoyed the nights he was here except for... the night he got sick! We had taken him to get some frozen yogurt and the first clue we should of picked up on that he did not feel good was when he said he did not want any frozen yogurt! But we continued on in making our yogurts and taking a few minutes to sit and eat them! All of a sudden Gavin runs out of Swirl-It holding his mouth and barely made it outside before.... Do I have to say more? But we loved the nights Gavin was able to spend one on one time with Granny and Pops this summer!
We are so thankful for Gavin! Gavin is a great example to all of his cousins and his family!
I pray Gavin will always continue to be the sweet example he is to his family and friends. I want Gavin to know if he stays close to the Lord he will be eternally happy!
I also want Gavin to know how thankful Pops and Granny are to have Gavin for our oldest grandson. We are thankful he is part of our "eternal family"! We look forward to watch Gavin grow in the gospel and to prepare him self to serve his Heavenly Father for two years, when he is called on a full time mission!
For now his mission is to continue to be a good big brother and a good example to all he comes in contact and continue to be the sweet darling boy he is.Gavin we are so happy you have made these special covenants with your Heavenly Father today, and you chose to be baptized! Granny and Pops are so proud of you and we LOVE you so much! We will always remember this day!!!
