I Want A Parachute!!

Some times I will admit that Monday nights are hectic and can be long...But some Monday nights are SO FUN!! This was a fun Family Home Evening! Juli Nielsen gave a great lesson and then we were on to our activity! "recess games!!! This parachute was so fun! Talk about  a work! Talk about breaking finger nails and a slight "whiplash"...:) We had so fun! So fun that I want to get a parachute for my grand kids to play with!! Travis posted pictures on Facebook and titled the post...Never to old for recess!! Thanks Travis!! I have to say it was quite the work out but just so fun!
We would put it above our head and it would go way high and it felt like you were going up with it!!
VERY VERY FUN!!!
Tom hid under neath when we started!!
This was so fun ! You put it way high and then go under and sit on the edge and lean back and it would just stay full like this!!!!
It for sure took some strength to hang on to the parachute as you flap it up and down or run a circle with it!! We bounced balls on it too! So fun! I can't wait to get one for our grand kids!!!
We love our Young Single Adult ward! So many wonderful great people in this ward!!

EXCITING NEWS FOR THE SAINTS IN ITALY!!!!

What a blessing it is to have our son Anziano N.Rhett Scheurn serving a two year mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Italy at this time!!!!
I love watching President Monsons face in this clip, when he announces the Italy Rome Temple
We just can't wait!!

This week the Italian Senate approved the Utah-based faith's push for an “Intesa con lo Stato,” the culmination of a decades-long effort to successfully establish relations with the Italian government.

Few faiths have successfully negotiated an “intesa” – or enhanced – status with the Italian government.

In 1993, the government formally recognized The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a legal entity, but only as a charitable institution, says Salt Lake City attorney Michael Homer, who served an LDS mission in Italy and has followed its politics ever since.

“This recognition enabled the LDS Church to own and inherit property (through purchases, wills, trusts and estates) as well as certain other tax advantages,” Homer detailed in an email. “It also enabled LDS ministers to perform marriage ceremonies subject to Italian law concerning civil marriages.”

This new status moves Mormonism from a charity to a church.

One of the biggest advantages for a religious faith of having an intesa is that it can share in religious tax proceeds, generated by taxpayers who wish to dedicate 0.8 percent of their taxes to a designated church, Homer explains in an interview.

But the LDS Church has indicated that “it would not accept tax money,” according to an email from Rome LDS Stake President Massimo DeFeo.

It is, instead, a "symbolic victory for Italian Mormons," Homer says, who now number nearly 25,000 in almost 100 congregations and are excitedly awaiting the completion of an LDS temple in Rome.

By comparison, he adds, “the biggest religion in Italy, other than Catholics, is Islam, with 1.25 million members, and it has no intesa.”

A Very Sad Day For The Perryman Family!!

Such a sad day!!
Tom's little sister Christi, her husband Jon and their children watch as their home was engulfed in fire!
A tragic accident!
The fire started in the garage and very quickly moved into the attic over the garage...Which then moved into the rest of the attic across the home!! Since the roof was on fire...the fire fighters could only fight the fire from outside. The second floor fell to the first floor.
Christi had only been gone about 20 minutes when she received a phone call saying her home was on fire! Jon was in Tucson when he got the call about their home. He said he was getting gas in his car at that time and he just stopped and took off for home! At this point he did not know for sure everyone was out of the house! He kept trying to call his family and no one answered! It was a great relieve when he did make contact with them to know everyone was accounted for and safe  including their family dogs!
It was so so so hot and then add the heat from the fire! There were volunteers who came and brought water and gator aid for us the the fire fighters!! It is great to know that there are many people willing to step in and help!! It was quite humbly to hear strangers come up to me and ask if they could buy clothes or what ever they need!!
When things started to calm down some the fire fighters were so kind they brought a few pictures with the frames broken and water on them out to Jon and Christi....They were so thankful for anything they could get!! No one is allowed in the home for safety reasons at this point! It was so heart wrenching to see Jon and Christi hold the few special things that were brought out to them and what was left that the fire fighters could grab for them! They were not even allowed into the home. Just all so sad!!

As I watched Jon and Christi hug their children as they smiled once in awhile and at the same time wipe tears I could not help but to think about their family!! What a great example they are to their children and me!! They still felt so blessed because they still had one another!! They kept their family so calm. I know they were heart broken over the loss of their home.... but Jon and Christi also showed gratitude for the safety of their family and pets even as their home and many memories were lost!! Jon and Christi have endured much! Only Jon would laugh as he said to me they think their last name should be the "Dingmans" because it seems as though just when things are going good they get "DINGED! They had just made over their den and bought new furniture and painted some things! They do see some miracles from yesterday too! There were gas cans that were thrown from the garage before they exploded and several others things that could be saved that no way should of made it throw the fire without harm!
It is like Jon and Christi to continue to smile and be thankful!!!
As Christi and I stood on the street for a few hour watching helplessly....She would just keep naming off things that were in the house that meant something to her and that could not be replaced! It was heart breaking to hear her think out loud!!
It will take a long time to rebuild their home but....The most important thing that is left is the Perryman family!! This family unit is so strongly  intact that any size of fire could not hurt this wonderful loving, sweet family!
I am so sorry to all of you for your loss!!
I love you all!
P.S. love having you at our house!

YSA FHE....And The Winner Is.......

We have Family home evening every Monday night with our Young Single Adult Ward. Some are funner than others but tonight it was super fun! In the past we play sports or make pizzas and a winner is crowned. We also go to nursing homes and serve there and shelters and there is many fun things to do! We start off with a short lesson and then we have an activity or game and....we ALWAYS end with dessert!! These young men and women ages 19 to 30 truly are like a family AND, Tom and I feel like they all have became part of our family!!!!! Lot of these young men and women do not have family close and they love the time they all get to gather for what every reason! We are so thankful to be able to serve in this ward!! We have grown in many ways! These young people are a great example to Tom and I and have taught us in many ways!!
We love all the Young Single Adults in the Williams Ward!!
Tonight for the activity for FHE was a cake decorating contest!! It was so fun! It was hilarious when each group had to present their cake in front of every one and explain how an why they decorated it the way they did!! It was just FUN!
I had Vance with me tonight. He  thinks he is part of our ward and the YSA think he is too!! They spoil him! His cake took first prize tonight!!
Vance did a little judging too with his boy....Travis Bulbulian! Vance thinks Travis is awesome and we do too!! Thanks Travis and all the FHE team for all you do!!!
Our cake took first prize! You can see how intense it was as we decorated!!! Thanks to Kelsey and our team for including Vance!!
Tom takes it pretty serious!!!
These Delgado sisters are looking pretty serious!! Go girls!!!
Rebeca, Mercedes and Sister Vanderwalker look pretty confident in what they are doing!!
So lets move on to the beautiful Cakes!!!! This top cake I am not sure how they explain it so...what ever you think it looks like, you can leave a comment!
This cake was the shoot and latter of life!!You walk along you might pick up some sin in the brown fire area area....So you stop off at the green golf course and think about your sin! :) Then you keep walking and go to the blue water for baptism and then the final place you walk to the Temple! It is called the journey of life!! Cute Idea!
This cake had race cars on it but....Not sure it worked so well!!
This cake had a good idea but....was not executed very well! Haha! If you can't guess  what it is suppose to look like I will tell you....The Temple!!
This beautiful cake took second place! It was by far my favorite!
This was the winner!! I will give you the two reason why it won I think!!! First it is close to the fourth of July and the second reason is....This was Vance's cake that he helped make and....Vance helped on the judging!!
Let me know what you think!!
All in all this was a great night!! So fun! It would be a fun activity for any time or party!!!
Thanks again to the Family Home Evening team that put this night together and work so hard to make it a prefect night!!!
