River Street!

Uncle Rhett Loves his nephew, Baby Grey!

I never thought Posey and Rhett looked alike until now!

Pops LOVES Ty-dye!

Baby Grey LOVES his Pops!

A jaw breaker that would last two years!

Daddy's Girl!

When you visit Savannah you always have to take a walk down "River Street"!
I did not know that the song "Moon River" was written about the Savannah River! A man by the name of Johnny Mercer wrote the song, but many have sung it!! WOW.... I will be a "SOCK-Eyed- Mule", I did not know this!!! I thought Frank Sinatra was the main man on that song!!
The "Savannah River" has one of the biggest ports of entry into the U.S. We saw a huge freight ship coming down the river and it was quite impressive!!
There are all kinds of shops to go into and you can find just about anything!
When people think about Georgia they think about peaches but.... Georgia produces more peanuts than any other state in the U.S.! Jimmy Carter was one of the most famous peanut farmer to live in Georgia! 45% of the nations peanuts come from Georgia! In the 1900's the men in Georgia were referred to as "Georgia Peanuts" and the women were referred to as "Georgia Peaches"! In Georgia people eat boiled peanuts! Really are you serious who eats those..... Posey's does, she Loves them.... me not so much! You can buy any kind and flavor of peanut in Georgia on "River Street"!
Also in Savannah they are know for their famous candy kitchens. So we ALWAYS have to visit The famous "Savannah Candy Kitchen"! They still use all the machines that they used hundreds of years ago! They are know all over the world especially for their pralines! But you can find any kind of candy you are looking for in this store! You can go on line and look them up and order anything they make! It is fun to watch them make taffy and all the chocolate! They work it and work it and stretch it and then you can see them cut it and wrap it and then it goes on to a conveyor belt and then into the different binds! They make all kinds of flavors! The chocolate they make is "delish" as well!!! And I can promise you will never see Carmel apples of all kinds this big anywhere else!! Tom loves the apples!!
It was quite hot so we did not stay to long but.... We had a fun day walking along River Street shopping and eating and just enjoying each other! The only thing that would of made the day better would of been if Posey would of let Vance stay home from school and let him go with us to "River Street"!!!
But all in all... it was a fun day...... "DOWN BY THE RIVER"!!!!!!!!
