Old Wine or Old Girlfriends!

I have heard the older the wine is the better it is!! I still think I should test that out but... for now I can can testify that friends that you have had for ever are the BEST!!!
It was a short girls over nighter but so fun!!!
Jo Ellen Guthrie and Lari Smith and I went to Jo Ellen's cabin in Strawberry Arizona last weekend! We had a blast!
We were only in the car forty minutes before we stopped and ate. We went off the beaten path in Fountain Hills and ate a burger place that was YUMMY!
After we were stuffed, we headed up the mountain!
Once we got into Payson we stopped at Wal-Mart and picked up our dinner!!! Ice Cream!!!!!! Isn't that what you eat for dinner on girls trips????? Of course it is! What were we thinking for Hell sakes.... We weren't, and it was so fun! Have you ever tried Dove Chocolate Mint"? if you have not you might want to try it!!
After we got to the cabin we settled in to a night of a lots of laughs and some serious discussions as well! We laughed about old times from when our kids were little, to the years of girls camp we were called to serve together, and many callings we have shared and just lots of fun times!!! Lots of the things we reflected on I am unable to share, we did not get caught then so why get in trouble now!!! There are things that people would not be surprised I did but.... it is hard to believe that Jo Ellen and Lari were in on some of those things we did at girls camp! Do I regret any of the things we did.... not for a minute! They are memories I will treasure forever!!!!!
We sat up and talked for many hours about many different things and ate our diner... ice cream. We went to bed finally and had a great night sleep! We slept in the next morning to who knows how late!
We then started the morning with our "Vanilla Milk" which was "Delish" And went outside for a while just to smell the pines and enjoy a little bit of wild life! It was Beautiful!
We packed up and started down the mountain to go home! As we passed through Pine, there was a small kind of arts and craft /chili cook off contest so we stopped and walked around and found a few treasures!
There was a pirate there who had written kids books and we had a good visit with him! It was a perfect morning!
As we got in to Payson we ate mexican food at the El Rancho and it too was "Delish". We were so full but Jo Ellen had been telling us about this place in Payson that made the best pies and since this was a "girls trip" and we do what ever we want.... we decided we would stop there as well! We were to full to eat any pie so we took it to go! And YES it was worth the extra stop! I think the name of that restaurant was "Macky's" So if you get to Payson look it up!
It was a great time and the only thing that would of made it better was if we could of stayed at least a month!!!
Jo Ellen could you please work on that!!!
Thanks for such a fun Quick Girls Trip"! I am so thankful for "Old Girl Friends"!
I love you Jo Ellen and Lari, Lets do it again!
I have decided that nothing is better than, long time dear friends, and they do get better with age. Even better than aged wine!
