Emergency Preparedness... FHE!

Every third Monday of the month FHE is split up between the Bishopric in our Young Single Adult ward. The 3 groups rotate in between the 3 homes! So the first group only comes to our home once every three months! Last month, Tom ask me if I would do the lesson so I said sure but... He would be in charge this month! I can't tell you what a good job he did! When Tom was on the High Counsel, one of the things he was over was "Emergency Preparedness"! He felt like he should start small so he taught about our 72 hour kits we all should have. Tom him self was well prepared for the night with even his print outs stapled all together!! He talked about some of the situations where these kits might could help us, where they should be kept in case we need them! Tom had printed out information for all the kids so they could go on line to our Stake Representative and learn so much more! www.iwillprepare.com This man teaches all over not just in our Stake and is a wealth of knowledge and AMAZING ! I learned so much last night! One of the points Tom mentioned was where to keep certain things! I Always had our 72 hour kits all together in our storage food but...Tom said to keep it in our bedrooms close. Because, if you need them in the night, there is a good chance you will not be able to see to go get them! OR...If this is not possible at least tape a flashlight to the underneath side of your bed so you can have the light to go and get your 72 hour kit if needed!! Tom even went to Big Lots to get some soup, candles, water, suckers, and a small flashlight and we made a little starter kit for everyone one who came last night! FHE was a HIT last night and the kids were so excited to go and finish up there kits! We have decided we are going to have the same lesson for the next two months on our third Monday night FHE here at our house so all the kids in the ward will be able to start a kit!! It was a great lesson for the Young Single Adult Ward who do not have a lot of room where they are living now! But now they can at least be prepared for a few days until help could come or they were instructed where to go!
GOOD JOB, TOM SCHEURN!!!!
After our lesson Ton made up the fun-est get to know you game with a few different angles on it!! We had a few prizes as well!! The kids loved that too!
And then it was on to dessert!
It truly was one of the best Family Home Evenings I have been to in a while all because Tom, was SO PREPARED!!!
Tom, you are the BEST!!
I adore you!!!
