I am back up and running!!
You know it is not such a good thing when you get a call from your surgeon saying....Tamy, this is Dr. R, give me a call on my cell phone...I need to visit with you!! AND this he did!
A week later I was in the operating room!
After 15 years of Dr.R telling me that my gallbladder was not functioning well and he thought it would be best to take it out. He could not promise me it would help to much with my chronic nausea...But he said it could help. When you have a gastric paresis you learn to live with chronic nausea and pain. I just did not want to go through a surgery that was elective in ways. So after fifteen years and much talking on the phone...Dr. R made it clear it was no longer an option that was gallbladder had to be removed! He said that it would not take away my nausea but it could help....I think it has. I still have chronic nausea but it seems to have helped a little!
While I was having a pre-op appointment Dr. R asked me how my port was holding up since he placed it five years ago. I told he for what every reason in the past 3 years or so some nurses have a hard time accessing it and it takes two or three sticks sometimes! The blood return has been super slow when my labs are drawn every six weeks on my infusion day! So he quickly checked and quickly said.....Well I can see why.....My port had shifted over the years and was no longer flush with my skin. He said he would fix that as well! And he did!
I ended up having to me admitted the day of surgery do to extreme nausea from anesthesia....But all in all I am grateful for a sweet kind caring surgeon that came in that night to check on me! I am just happy I no longer have to question the old gallbladder....ITS GONE!!!!!
Thank heavens this little beauty! My port is back up and running too!! It worked great this last week for my infusion!
