Mr & Mrs. Nolan Rhett Scheurn!!
As I reflect on Rhett and Brooke's most special day of their life....all I can think about is how so very grateful I am! SO grateful to be in this beautiful Holy House and witness the promises that Brooke and Rhett made to each other and, their Heavenly Father! What an honor to sit in a beautiful sealing room on the highest floor of the Temple and hear the sacred words from President LeSueur as he sealed Brooke and Rhett not just for time.... but...All Eternity!! We did not asked for President LeSueur to seal Brooke and Rhett because we know how busy he is but, When a sweet Temple Worker came into our sealing room and said... Your family must be special because When President saw the name he quickly said he would like to perform this sealing personally! Dave LeSueur helped fellowship Tom in to church. He was a great neighbor and has been a dear friend!! He spoke as usual....Like AN ANGEL!!!! All the things he said is not to be written on my blog but where I write my most sacred thoughts and feelings. I will say that from with in a few minutes of President speaking the tears rolled off Rhett's face through the rest of the sealing. We ALL were just so filled with the most tender spirit I have felt in a long time. This sealing was extra sweet!!! The spirit that was in that beautiful sacred room is hard to express! I can say there were few dry eyes if any! It was an honor to sit next to Rhett and Brooke as Brooke's mother sat on the other side of the beautiful bride and groom! Tom and Brooke's father were the witnesses and as I watch both proud fathers I could see the thankfulness they had as well! I am so thankful for Tom and the example he is to our children. It is such a wonderful blessing to be married to a man that honors his priesthood! As I watched Rhett and Brooke I had a peace and reassurance that Rhett will do all he can to honor his priesthood as he always has...and that he will grow to be a great example to his family just like Tom is to ours!!
There were several young men that came from from all over the USA to be with Rhett and Brooke, from Rhett's mission in Italy! To see these young men sit with our friends and family in the Temple was just so extra special! Rhett's MTC companion Ben Smith have remained so very close along with several others. I jokingly asked those boys later that day...OK which one of you talked Rhett off the cliff the most! They all replied with the same answer.... Everyone LOVED Anziano Scheurn! We never heard him speak poorly or mean of any companion and he worked so hard on his mission. They said why do you think so many are here to support him!!! Is was so great to meet these young men that I felt I already knew! They all were so willing to help in the days before with the reception and so many other things!!! It was a sweet moment at the grooms luncheon after the sealing, when Ben stood to give a toast to the bride and groom. The room was so very quiet as Ben began to speak in Italian to Rhett. I am not sure what he said to Rhett but.....But I do know it was a tender toast as the tears again rolled down Rhett's cheeks!! At that point we all felt the sweet message even tho we did not know what was said! The luncheon was wonderful and the reception perfect!
This day could not have been any better!! The beauty of the day, the spirit that was felt, the family that was there and all the wonderful friends who came to support Rhett and Brooke was perfection!!
