Max Just Could Not Wait!!!!

Maxwell Kapono Scheurn tried so hard to wait to make his arrival on Pops's (tom's) birthday and his due date October 25th but,,,,Max came about 5 and 1/2 hours to early!!
Max was born at 6:41 pm! He weighed 7lbs 11oz and is 20 inches long!!
He is just PERFECT!!!!
What a CUTE CHUB!!!!
After Max's mom and dad had some special alone and quiet time with him, Pops was the first one to hold him!!! Not sure who was more proud....Pops or Erin and Joe!!!
Pops snuggled for quite sometime with baby Max!! For sure, "love at first sight"!!!
Two PROUD Papas!!!
First family photo!!
The VERY proud "biggest" sister Emma!
Noah is SO excited about his new room mate!!!
Max loved getting a "tight" hug form his big sister Gwenie!
I feel sure Max's feet will never hit the ground with his older siblings!!! They all love him so much and have waited for this day!!!
Max, Pops and Grammy love you so much and we are so thankful you are here safe and sound!!

side note...all of Joe and Erin's children have Hawaiian middle names. Joe served his mission in Hawaii. Kapono means Righteous!

CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN!!!!!

Zaycon chicken is back so I thought I would take advantage of it again!!!! I bought 120 pounds of it and they were such nice chicken Breast! As always HUGE!!! I do not can or bottle things but my close friend Brenda Sanders does and so she helped me! We bottled chicken once before and it was so easy and I thought I would try it again before I invested in my own pressure cooker!! We had a great day visiting with on another!!! We made a great team!!!
I cleaned and cut the chicken and Brenda filled the jars!!
This is what the jars looked like prior to cooking the chicken! It really was easy! You do not have to put water in the bottle, it makes it own both! We just added a little salt!!!
We heated the jars up a smidge in hot water before we put them in the pressure cooker!!!

It was great to get the chicken home and put on my pantry shelf and just look at them!! Brenda said I am sure Tom will really thank you when the time comes that we might have to use food storage. She said I am sure he will be happy to have some nice moist chicken instead of rolled oats!!!
And yes I did go on line and bought a fantastic pressure cooker for me!! Can't wait to get it!!!
My SWEET Brenda, thank you SO much for all the help!! I had a great day with you!!!

We Just Might Be.....!!!

This week has been fall break for all of our grand kids and "Frenchie". So needless to say things have been somewhat hectic at Granny / Mima (the Cowart kids call me mima and all the rest, granny!) and Pops house!! We have tended kids here and there and we have had a few sleep overs as well!!! Noah had a dental appointment as well, I will come back to the dental appointment. But I was thinking "we might be rednecks if", your grandson is playing tackle football at age 6, and if three kids in the same family have all lost their front tooth long before it was suppose to come out. Since the three kids that lost their front tooth to early are Joe and Erin's kids, I knew I could tease them and post pictures and they would laugh with me!!!
But I will start with Vance who is six! Yes he is playing TACKLE football at age six. Now I am not sure but I think the helmet weighs more than his own head, and he can hardly see out of it.! The pads are huge!! The hip pads meet together in the front and the back of him!!! Knee and thigh pads go to the ankles on some kids! All in all I think the equipment weighs more than Vance!! He has his coaches yelling at him and his dad from the sideline, so he is receiving about 20 commands in the first minute he lines up on the line for the play! PLAY...What is that!!!! It is one thing for a older child to have a coach grab him by the face mask or jersey, but when a six year old gets grabbed like that, I am sure he is thinking...What is going on here, I not allowed to grab anyone like that!! I have to say Vance was a STAR and did really well for his first game, even though he yelled to his mom who was on the sideline..."Its freaken hot out here" and it was!! Vance...Mima LOVES YOU!!!!

Noah wears an old cowboy belt I had made for Joe when he was a little boy so he had been REALLY wanting cowboy boots for quite a while! Since he was a STAR at the dentist office, Granny bought him new cowboy boots!!! I had to tell he to walk with his head up because he kept looking down at his new boots and was running into things! Noah was so happy because he feels sure he is just like Pops now!! He is now a REAL cowboy!! Noah just needs to learn to saddle the horses up by him self!! Cowboy Up Noah!!!
When Emma was about 4, she was at the gym with her her mom! As she was jumping with a hula-hoop she tripped and fell forward. She bumped her lip so the girl that was watching her went and got Erin to tell her what had happened. As Erin was walking over to the kids gym...The girls said...."Emma had already lost her front tooth right"??? " WHAT"!!! "NO, SHE WHAT"??? So first child, Emma looses her front tooth!! Then Gwen! She was 2ish and was climbing up in her high chair and bumped her mouth and knocked out her same front tooth!! AND finally Noah! He to bumped his mouth and just loosened his front tooth and the dentist said it might be okay it might jsut tighten back up! It did tighten back up but it turned gray in color after a while!! So all three times the kids were rushed to the dentist and all three times it was the same result...We are sorry but there is not much we ca do!!
During spring break it was time for teeth cleaning so Erin took the kids in to Dr. Creech. When Noah was check by Dr. Creech he informed Erin the tooth that had been hit needed to be extracted!! I got a call from Joe and he informed me that soon ALL three of his kids would soon be missing their front tooth!!
This is where I informed Joe he might just be a "redneck if....ALL THREE OF YOUR KIDS ARE MISSING THEIR FRONT TOOTH"!!!
I can only hope that baby Max that will be here in 2 weeks can keep BOTH front teeth until the time they come out on their own!!!!

Another toothless wonder is our little Lucy. As you can see she is missing a few teeth but she lost her teeth naturally so I will exclude her from the "redneck" group of grand kids!!! Lucy and I had a fun sleep over!! She is for sure a girly-girl!!!
Love you "Lulu-Bell"
So all in all we had a fun week with our little "rednecks" and...I will have to say I have the CUTEST little "rednecks" in the world!!!!!
