A Cardboard Box!

We had a huge empty box in our garage that has been in the way.... and I had been telling Tom to break it up and throw it away!
Tom has a thing about boxes! He likes to save them and just put STUFF in them!!! After this huge box kept getting in my way, I went to toss it and at that point Tom said he was going to make a play house out of it for Gwen, since she was the only one that could fit in it anyway!
So two weeks later , who knows how much money in paint and brushes, and at least fifty hours of tender loving time, Pops put into this play house.... It is now complete!
I was bugged with Tom because I kept thinking this little play house would not last long and... It was taking allot of time to make! Not to mention it was hard for me to get in and out of my car!
It was all worth it when Gwen saw it last night!!! She opened the door and went in and LOVED it!!! She looked so cute in it as well! She want to name all the colors painted on it! She looked out the windows, she LOVED it!
But I now realize who was the Happiest of all!! Pops!!! He was over joyed to see how much Gwen loved it! He told me several times "Gwen really loves her play house" and that brought much joy to Tom!!
After I gave it some thought I felt so bad that I had complained so much about this little house, and how it had been in my way! It brought such excitement and joy to two people I really love!
There is no amount of money that could of bought such happiness to Gwen or Pops! Who would of thought that a cardboard box could made two people so happy!!

Tom you are the Best Pops in the world!
Note to self... If it last only a few weeks or a few months it was worth it!!!

Hands!!!

I would say tonight except it is now morning, 4:00 am to be exact and I can not sleep!
There are few reasons why....
First I will start with a presentation I gave, (last night) to all eleven Relief Society Presidents and Stake Leaders as well. I have given several presentation in the past few months on out-of-wedlock pregnancies and addictions of ALL kinds! You would think after having this calling for eight years I could just give a presentation in an hours time and for once not shed a tear as I talk about these things and... be done with it and go home and go to bed!! It just never happens like that!
As a Agency Representative for Family Service we have been trained in many ways but... we have also been taught that you should pray about your presentation and the people you will be presenting to and teach by the spirit. So each time it is different in some ways! Last night as I spoke to these women I started by saying.... I pray that as I talk about these sensitive subjects that I do not offend anyone or let any thing I say come between you and the Lord!! One of the main things I talk about is how sometimes the Mormon community can be judgemental! In a conference talk given by President Utchdorf he said we need to be better missionaries and fellowship our bothers and sister and to fellowship means to form a friendship and friendships are loving, they show love!
As I sat in on a counseling session last week with a birth mom David explained something that made so much sense to me! He said it is one thing to tell someone you love them over and over but sometimes even though you tell them you love them your behavior may not show it! This made so much sense to me!
When you think about the Savior.... allot of times you think of Him with his Hands stretched out in front of Him. When you think of Him that way.... you notice that the Savior never talks down to anyone... He only talks to them and with them!! When you think of the Savior and the way He teaches... He teaches with love. The Lord does not threaten or talk down to us But.. Satin on the other hand does! Satin say if we do not live up to our covenants that we are in his power and he uses scare tactics. I have talked before about this conference talk called..."You Are His Hands". I LOVE THIS TALK!!! I know I need to strive harder to emulate the Savior! I, we need to be His eyes, His ears and His Hands! We need to get on the path of those who are struggling and walk with them. We need not to just tell someone I love you but change your behavior in a way to show them you love them!
There is nothing that is irreversible with the Atonement!
This meeting was to be one hour but it lasted almost two hours! There was not one sister in that room who had not or is not being effected by an addiction of their own or a loved one in her family and wanted to share their feelings! The spirit of this meeting was intense to say the least! Even after the meeting was over these sister stayed and talked for quite sometime!
I feel sure that after this meeting every sister in that room..... GOT IT!!! I feel sure that this meeting will make an everlasting change in the way they view people who are struggling with life's experiences! I pray people will do all they can to not judge but extend their HAND as the Savior extends His Hands to ALL of us!
Now the next reason I am having a hard time going to sleep as it is now approaching five in the morning.... Rhett's mission papers were sent in as of last night! August 26, 2010! As I lay in bed thinking about Rhett embarking on a full time mission for two years my emotions are raw! I know how much he is needed and I know Rhett needs to stretch himself but... he is my baby!! I WILL MISS HIM!!!! I pray he will be a warrior, that he will loose himself in the service of the Lord! I pray he will rely on the Lord at all times and he will serve every waking minute! I pray he too will be the Lords Hands and that his Hands will continually be stretched out to those he is called to serve! I pray he will have peace and a calm about him so he will hear the promptings of his Heavenly Father to find those who need a HAND!
Rhett... I love you! I know if you will surrender your Hands to the Lord you will have a wonderful mission. Never forget how strong your hands are you have made many tackles on the football field with your Hands and you have pinned many wrestlers on the wrestling mat with your Hands and now it is time to take those strong big Hands and serve the people where ever you are called.
Rhett again dad and I love you, and your Hands have now officially been called to serve!

The Best Birthday Present Ever!!!

Nena with her daughters, Grace and Valentina!

Every year Tom says to me.... "What do you want for your birthday"?And every year I say the same thing to him.... "I already have what I want"!!!
NENA!!!!!
When I was nine years old my mom had a big birthday party for me the day before my birthday! I remember the party well! My mom always went out of her way when it came to our birthdays! I have many great memories of many great birthdays!!! My mom made sure we always had a new dress that she had made for us! The cakes were always homemade and memorable because she would wrap coins up in foil and put them into the batter and bake the coins in the cake. Who every got the "QUARTER" won a prize!!! My mom would also freeze ice cube trays of kool-aid to go in our drinks! We always felt like our birthdays were special and important!!
On my ninth birthday my mom had my party the night before my actual birthday. I am sure she must of had some insight she would be having the baby any minute due to the fact this was her seventh baby! I had a great party! I do remember the next day when my dad took my to the hospital when she went into labor! I remember waiting for my dad to come home to tell us if we had a brother or a sister, seeing at that point the score was even! Three girls and Three boys! I know us girls really wanted a girl! We knew if it was a girl her name was going to be Nena! I do not remember all the details but I do remember at some point my dad putting on a record of a song called "Nena Never Knew" And at that point we knew my mom had a baby girl! I was so happy!!!
Nena has always been special to me! I know she was a gift from above to me on my birthday! My mom has always made two cakes and we had two parties allot of the time! People have always asked me do you feel bad you do not have your own birthday just for you! That question has always caught me by surprise! NO, NO NO!!! In fact I could not imagine not sharing a birthday with one of the people I love most in this world! Also my Mom always made each of us feel like it was our own special day!
Nena has always been special to me! When she was little she was like a real live doll to us older girls! I loved dressing her and most of all doing her hair! I use to make her sit on the counter in the bathroom or the clothes hamper and do her hair!! I would get it so tight and perfect by the time I was done she always told me she felt like she was going to throw up! I would always say just a few more minutes and then I will be done! Sometimes she would have to lay down on the counter so I could finish! What a champ!
One of my other favorite things I use to love to do with Nena was, we would stand on the harth of the fire place with wooden spoons and turn on the record player LOUD! We would play Tammy Wynette songs and we would sing them at the tops of our lungs! "Stand By Your Man", "Apartment Number Nine" and of course the classic 'D-I-V-O-R-C-E"! We also would sing "Satin Sheet"! We have pictures of us singing and singing!
Another favorite time with Nena when she was little was when I would take her to the stables to ride horses! She would ride different horses but... I think it was "Ginger" who ran away with Nena and... she fell off and that pretty much ended her riding career!!
I can remember like it was yesterday when I started dating Tom. Tom and I would try to sneak off upstairs to make-out and Nena would ALWAYS come up there and do cartwheels and anything else to get our attention!! When I started dating Tom, Nena was barely six years old!
As Nena grew older my LOVE only grew for her! When Nena had her first baby, Hutton, I was in the labor room with her and Bubba! She was having a rough labor and I just stayed close to her and tried to keep her calm and all was well until she threw up tuna all over me right before she delivered him! In fact I had told her not to eat the tuna but she did not listen to me at the time! But when it was time to go into the delivery room I gave her a kiss and said I will see you in a little while.... AND the doctor said we aren't going to the delivery room without you, you are the only one that can keep her calm so off I went to the delivery room with her!! Nena was a champ as always!
I could write forever about Nena and the LOVE I have her! She is a amazing sister, mom, aunt, daughter, friend and chief and example!!
Nena is always there to listen and encourage me! Nena loves my kids no matter what they do. Nena would do anything for me and my family at any given moment! I have a love I can not describe for her! I do not know what I would do without her! I LOVE her sense of humor! I do think she missed her calling as an comedic imperiousness, she can imitate anybody and even our one legged dog we use to have!!! She is HILARIOUS!!! I LOVE BEING WITH HER !
Most of all I am THANKFUL to my Heavenly Father for sending her to me on my ninth birthday! I say to me because that is how I feel! I feel like Nena is my present sent from up above! I am Eternally blessed to have her for my sister and I am Eternally thankful for her!
Nena Happy Birthday!!!! I LOVE and ADORE you with all my heart forever!!!!

"Earthly Angels"

"Earthly Angels".... Who are they? What are they?

There are many different kinds but.... ones I am writing about today are loving, tender hearted, strong, selfless, considerate, and LOVE their children! In fact "Earthly Angels" love their children so much... that they want to give them EVERY thing in the world and sometimes that means they place their baby in the arms of adoptive parents! These "Earthly Angels" know they cannot provide a stable home with a father and give their baby all they need. So these "Earthly Angels" are willing to go through HELL so their babes can have more and... all they need!!

I am sure after going through adoptions with these moms and seeing their pain, it is much harder than loosing a child in some ways! I go with Katie every Thursday night to a support group meeting for young women going through an unplanned pregnancies. I hear and see the pain these "Angels" go through.

There was a "Angel" last night at the support group and she explain how she had lost love ones before in her in her life. She said it was a sad times but... she felt like she had closer at the funeral but.... When she placed her baby in the arms of her baby's other mom.... It was a huge loss! She felt as though she did not have closer because her baby was still here on this earth but yet, she did not have her! She went on to explain her grieving process. The different stages she went through. This "Angels" has since gone on to be married in the Temple and has a wonderful life but... she said there will always be a part of her that is missing. She also said from the moment she choice and met the adoptive couple she knew they were to be her baby's parents. Does she regret that she loved her baby so much and wanted to give her baby more... and all she deserved? No.

It does sadden me to say that allot of the birth dads do not want to be part of their children lives! I think part of it is the not knowing and they do not want to show emotions. But unfortunately some just do not care! Men do not have the bond mother feels from the moment the baby is conceived! It also saddens me to say there are moms that do not care and continue with there addictions during and after their pregnancy and do not take care of their kids. This is painful for me to see or hear about. These moms are selfish and they are only thinking of them selves!

"Earthly Angels" have a bond that is so strong and it seems to grow. The love and protection that they have for their child never goes away!

The "Earthly Angels" at this support group, have very open adoptions and have a amazingly close relationship with the adoptive mom and dad! These babies are brought up knowing their biologic moms love them more than words can describe! That have more love then some babies!

It use to be that adoptions were a very ugly thing that no one talked about. But if done through the church it can be a very spiritual experience. Very Open!

As I have watched Katie with her relationship with her sweet little girl... It is tender. Katie has the best relationship with her little girls parents! Katie was at the Temple the day her little girl was sealed to her parents! The adoptive parents talk to their little girl about Katie, and let her know she has a older brother and a new little brother to come! They all speak often on the phone since they live in Utah. It is a special relationship that Katie has with this family.

What a blessing for this little girl to grow up knowing how much she is loved!

At our meeting last night there were many tears and emotion. The tears I noticed came with words of love... The sad emotions came from feelings and words of "Earthly Angels" wrongly judged!!!!

For ANYONE to say that that an "Earthly Angel" does not care about their baby or love their baby is WRONG!!!! For ANYONE to say a "Earthly Angel" just "Gave their baby up for Adoption" is WRONG!!!! NO "EARTHLY ANGELS" just... "Gives their baby up for adoption".... "Earthly Angels "Place their baby into the LOVING hands and arms" Of those moms who are unable to have babies come from their tummy, these special moms and dads babies come from "EARTHLY ANGELS"!!!!

Emma Poliahu Scheurn

Six years ago today "Miss Emma Poliahu Scheurn" came into this world!
When Emma was born it was quite the party going on in the labor room! It was a special day I will never forget! I was in the room when she was born and I saw her take her first breath! From the minute she was born I thought she looked just like her grandma Colette, she definitely looked like the Edward side of the family!
One of the first things we noticed about Emma was her fat cherub cheeks! As she got older her cheeks got bigger and bigger! We miss those pudgy cheeks! Emma always had the cutest what we call"Chub"on her! She always had the cutest chubby legs and face and arms! It looked like she had rubber bands on her upper legs and her wrist!! She was darling cute!
Ever since she has been little Erin always dressed Emma extra girly! She ALWAYS had huge bows in her hair and jewelry on! Emma loved wearing big bows, big flowers, and jewelry!! When she was a baby Joe and Erin would bring her over to play and visit with Grammy and Pops. Pops would always take her bows out of her hair and tell Erin the bow is bigger than her head! NO sooner than Pops would take them out of her hair.... Erin would put them back!
Pops was the one who took Emma to get her ears pierced when she was one year old! That too is a day I will not forget! I for sure did not want to be a part of that!
One thing I will always remember about Emma was she was the most calm baby I had ever been around! She was very quiet! She would lay in the bed between Tom and I and put her hands with her fingers lock together behind her head and just lay there until she would fall asleep! She was just so cute, chubby and mellow! We always enjoyed having her at our house! And we still do!But Now she is tall and lean! We are amazed at what a sweet girl, kind big sister, fun cousin and beautiful grand daughter she has become!
Emma is still a "GIRLY GIRL"! She loves to dress up! Since she has been one she has worn flip-flops with a big wedge soles and she LOVES high heels and lipstick!!! Or what she use to call it "lip-lip"! Emma does not leave the house without something in her hair and jewelry!
She is now in kindergarten and becoming a big girl! "Emma P." as we call her... Pops and I want you to know how much we love you are how very proud we are of you!!! Always be the big helper you are and continue to set a great example for your bother and sister! They will always look up to you!!!
Pops and Grammy love you with all our hearts and we are so thankful for you!!!!
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
"EMMA POLIAHU SCHEURN"
instead of gift bags of candy Joe and Erin made flip-flops for all the girls!!! SO CUTE!!!!

WOW!!!!

I found my new FAVORITE place to go!!
B.A. SWEETIES!!!!
As I was going to Deseret Book on Saturday, I was headed west on Williams Field and just west of the light at Alma School... Katie says "Look at that store"! On the front of it it said "B.A. Sweeties" and it had different names of candy on the front of the building!
Of course I darted across three lanes of traffic and slammed on my brakes and turned right into the parking lot! My thought was Emma's birthday was coming up and Gavin just was baptized that day and I thought I should check it out!!!
Well forget Gavin and Emma and the rest of the grand kids and... HELLO Tamy!! Then my next thought was.... Tom Scheurn just went broke!!!
When I walked in I could not believe my eyes!! 3000 square feet of EVERY kind of candy EVER known to man! It came in ever form from... bulk, boxes to single packs. Some hard, some soft, some sour, some chocolate, some with nuts, some with out, some new, some old... I think you get the idea!!!!! I have truly never seen anything like it before in my life! I was in sensory overload! I had no idea where to starts or... what to do!! I thought of each grand kid and what they would like. I thought about each of my kids and their spouse what they would like. Then I started thinking about my friends needs. Then my thought went to my mom and sisters! And last but not least what Tom would like!!
When I was a little girl my mom would take us to a store called "McCorys" at Thomas Mall or Newberrys, at Park Central Mall, and sometimes to the Sears candy counter! My mom would give us anywhere between thirty-five and fifty cents and let us buy candy, while she shopped for fabric! We could get allot for that much money! (I just really dated my selve!) So I have always loved a store that had a good variety of candies especially old kinds of candies we got as young kids!
Let me tell you... this store not only has old school candy, but candy I have never seen or heard of!!! After I got past the first ten feet of the store I knew there was going to be a big problem and I needed to get a hold of my self!! I soon pulled it together some what... and put many things back!'
It was by far an hour of fun and excitement that I enjoyed so much! I would tell everyone I know to go check out "B.A. Sweetie".... which by the way stands for "Bag A Sweetie"!!!
I can't wait to tell Tom that I want to go to Cleavland, Ohio for our next vacation because... the girl that checked me out said the original store is there and.... it is 10,ooo square feet!!!
Mmm- Mmm!!!!

Gavin's Special Day!!!

Today was a special day for "Gavin Thomas Scheurn"!!
Today Gavin walked into the waters of baptism! Gavin turned eight years old on July 26, 2010!
As I walked into the church, Gavin met me to explain what was going to happen on this special day! He was so excited! He said "Granny I am getting baptized! He was so happy!!
He was well prepared as his Stake president and Bishop asked him many questions ! I know for sure that Gavin knew the importance of this day! When you look at Gavin's face you can see the special sweet spirit he is!
This summer there were several nights Gavin was able to send the night at Granny and Pops's house! We always enjoyed the nights he was here except for... the night he got sick! We had taken him to get some frozen yogurt and the first clue we should of picked up on that he did not feel good was when he said he did not want any frozen yogurt! But we continued on in making our yogurts and taking a few minutes to sit and eat them! All of a sudden Gavin runs out of Swirl-It holding his mouth and barely made it outside before.... Do I have to say more? But we loved the nights Gavin was able to spend one on one time with Granny and Pops this summer!
We are so thankful for Gavin! Gavin is a great example to all of his cousins and his family!
I pray Gavin will always continue to be the sweet example he is to his family and friends. I want Gavin to know if he stays close to the Lord he will be eternally happy!
I also want Gavin to know how thankful Pops and Granny are to have Gavin for our oldest grandson. We are thankful he is part of our "eternal family"! We look forward to watch Gavin grow in the gospel and to prepare him self to serve his Heavenly Father for two years, when he is called on a full time mission!
For now his mission is to continue to be a good big brother and a good example to all he comes in contact and continue to be the sweet darling boy he is.Gavin we are so happy you have made these special covenants with your Heavenly Father today, and you chose to be baptized! Granny and Pops are so proud of you and we LOVE you so much! We will always remember this day!!!

It must of been a HEAT STROKE!!!!

Yesterday I left the house early to run several errands The first being LDS Family Service. As Katie and I were waiting for David to call us back for our weekly visit! I needed to get something out of my purse, that was on the floor and as I leaned over to get in my purse... I caught a glimpse of my feet! In a some what loud voice I said,"Oh my gosh"! Katie asked "What is wrong, did you lock your keys in the truck"? I said "No worst... I have two different shoes on"! Katie thought it was hilarious, me not so much!!!!When David, who is a counselor and trains us A.R.s, called us back I tried not to bring any attention to my feet but... of course Katie brought it to Davids attention! He laughed so hard I think everyone in F.S. heard him! I told him it was a heat thing and it is so hot out I can not see, hear or smell, let alone figure out if I have matching shoes on! After he quit laughing at me... notice I did not say with me... our visit soon became very spiritual. In our last training meeting on Wednesday, David referred back to President Uchtdorf' talk called "You Are His Hands". I loved this talk and had read it several time but he asked us Agency Representatives to see it and listen to it with our calling in mind!
In this talk President Uchtdort said it was unworthy of us as Christians to think of those who suffer deserve their suffering. He also used a metaphor about how an old dirty wrinkled up twenty dollar bill has the same worth as a new crisp twenty dollar bill! He also said that everyone is a V.I.P. in the eyes of the Lord! It was a great talk and I could go on for ever about this talk!
It is so important for us not judge. In my calling I get the chance to witness great things! I have seen many that are struggling with many different types of addiction. I have seen Earthly Angels place their babies in homes to be adopted by parents who are unable to have children of their own! Being an addict or facing an out-of-wedlock pregnancies are very difficult issues to go through. But yet I have witnessed miracles many times! It is sad to say that sometimes people judge those who are struggling. Here again how unworthy of us! This subject is near and dear to my heart!
As our visit was coming to an end and David had given Katie many examples of her self worth and tried to help her understand it does not matter what others think about her and talked to her about all her good traits he said... Let me give you an other example! As he was looking down at my two different shoes, I thought to my self... what is he thinking and where is he going with this conversation! He continued to say most people who left their home with two different shoes, would be horrified and run home and find a matching pair and would never run errands wearing different shoes BUT.... Knowing Tamy I am sure she is not going home until her errands are done! He said you know Tamy she does not care what people think of her or she would not say some of the things she say if she did care!! David knows me well! Yes I spent all day out with two different shoe and did not give it much thought!
Let me make this clear though.... Let me reassure you I will never let the heat get to me again where I can't figure out that my shoes do not match. And I am still not sure if I missed this last example that David gave about my shoes in President Uchtdorf's talk or was it strictly the heat!!! Maybe someone will let me know!

My Personal Shopper!!!!

The day before yesterday I was blow drying my hair and..... My blow dryer shot craps on me!!! WOW... I was so stress over it, that I just put it in the trash and tried not to think about it anymore! I thought well maybe I should not throw it away seeing that it still blew air but it was just cold and I could still use it.... it just might take me five hours to blow dry my hair!
So now it is Saturday night and I have church in the morning and I am thinking... What am I going to do with my hair for church tomorrow!
About that time Tom said to me... "What are you going to do about a blow dryer!! WHAT.... did he really just say that to me!!!! What the HELL do you think I am going to do about my blow dryer!! NOTHING!!! It is 7:30 pm Saturday night and I am tired so I will make do with what ever happens to my hair in the morning!!
Tom says to me..."Where is the closest Ulta"? I tell him and he says.... "I will go buy you one". I was slightly irritated thinking he is joking but I soon realized he was serious! Off he went!
So I thought I would test the waters and right when he got in the car I texted him and said "could you please check and see if Ulta had a light pink lip stain! I knew that would send him over the edge and he would be sorry he said he would go buy me a new blow dryer! I did not get a text back so I thought he was just going to ignore the text and just find a blow dryer and come home! Okay one part I left out earlier was, not only did I need good blow dryer but it had to be 1800 watts and...it had to be PINK!!!
Sure enough Tom returns home in about 30 minutes! With not an 1800watt blow dryer But... He came home with a 2000 watt BEAUTIFUL PINK blow dryer! The lip stain he bought was the brand I wanted, (I did not even tell him the brand or color) The brand is called Posie, so no other brand would of done!!! Tom knows I love nice lotions so he bought me two nice bottles of lotion that smelt so good, and a few small other things!
The moral of the story is.... I will let Tom continue to be my personal shopper, I feel sure I would not of gotten such a nice blow dryer if I would of done my own shopping!
If anyone need a FANTASTIC personal shopper, feel free to call Tom Scheurn, there is no one better! He defiantly knows what he is doing!!
Tom thanks so much for such a special Saturday night treat! It was much better than Swirl-It!
Your the BEST EVER!!!! I love you!!!!

The Best Cowboy 100%

Today when I checked my Emails, I was excited because I saw I had a letter from Eric, our exchange student from Brazil!
He had sent me a sweet note and a video he must of found on U-Tube called Families Can Be Together Forever! I played the video and read his sweet words and it just made my morning! Before long I realized I had a email forwarded to me from Tom that Eric had sent him! It read exactly like this....
heey Thooooom Scheeuurrnn (he always extends his words crazy kid)
how are you?
I really miss all you guys.
yesterday I went in my room and got the medal (silver coin) cita (my mom gave him) gave me....
it hurts me inside, I wish everything was easy and I could go there.
but I already working so I can go at the end of the year or in the middle of next year!
I will ve (be) the popcorn maker!
I sent you this email just to say I love you, and that soon we will see each other and we will be together Families can be together forever remember?
how is hawk's doing? (tom's horse)
the best cowboy 100% is Thom Scheurn!
with much love,
Eric Kentish (we always use last names it is an inside joke)
As you can read his English is not quite as good as it was but in our eyes it was perfect!
Eric would always extend his words so that is why Tom's name is spelled like it is. Also Tom has always told Eric that he was ALWAYS welcome to come back and live with us and if he can't find a job here that Tom would always hire him to pop the popcorn at the dealership for the customers that come in! It has been an on going joke for the last year!
The percent thing is about.... When ever Eric asked us if we liked something he would always say... "What percent you like"! We would say if something was fantastic and amazing we would say "For sure 100%" or if was not to good we would say "UHMMMM maybe 1 or 2 %" Everything from girls to clothes was a %!!! " VVEERRRRY NNIIICCCEEEE", he then would say!
As I have said before... Tom made sure that Eric knew we loved him and made sure that he felt like he was an important member in our family! Every morning before school Tom would kneel and pray with Rhett and Eric before they left for the day. At night Tom would call every one from where they are to come in the living room or our room for family prayer, I know Eric loved that. Tom would take Eric home teaching with him. Tom was a great example to Eric from the first moment they met! He welcomed Eric into our home as if he knew him for ever! I think Tom did know him before he came to our home! Tom showed his love to Eric and treated Eric just like he was his own son! A few emails back that I got from Eric he told me that he tries to get his family together at night for family prayer like Tom taught him to do. He said that he prays for his family in Portuguese and he prays for his American family in English.
Eric will forever be part of our family. Eric told me do not ever take his picture off my blog! It will be there forever!
I know with out doubt that Tom has mad an ever lasting impression on Eric! I do know that Eric misses the love he felt from Tom. He misses the hugs that Tom gave him! He misses the fun crazy times they had together! The buffets, the sushi, the sports talk, the sport bashing, going to football games and soccer games, wrestling tournaments where Eric would yell at the top of his lungs in a deep rough voice... GO RHETT SCHEURN!!!! there are so many things we miss with that kid!!!!
Eric is a special loving young man! I know he was put in our home for a reason! He needed Toms love and example and for that his life will for ever be changed for the better! I am so thankful that Tom was able to teach Eric gospel principles that will help him conduct his life in a manor that will help him to be happy! I know one day when Eric has a family he will share stories of Tom with his kids and wife and I am sure he will teach his family what Tom has taught him, and will love his family as Tom loves his family!
Tom... Eric is right you are "The Beat Cowboy and You Are 100%"!
WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!! and... You will ALWAYS BE MY 100% COWBOY FOR EVER!!!!!

August 1st is my sister Stacy's birthday. She is my next older sister who I love and adore more than she knows! I was sad I was unable to go to California to celebrate with her! I stayed home because Katie was here at the house and did not want to leave her alone. But Tom, Rhett and Joe went over for a long weekend to do a little golfing, fishing, diving, and just hanging out at the beach with family! They had a great time! We try and get to California every summer for a short time! We try to be there for Stacy's birthday! I am so happy Tom had a few days of fun, he SO deserves it! I was thankful he could represent the Scheurns love and support to Stacy on her birthday! They said it was awesome! Rhett said it was amazing but.... He did get sea sick and that was not to fun but... he still got some diving in!
It sounded so fun! Drew, my oldest sister's son, cooked Cita tacos for everyone for Stacy's birthday dinner! Tom said it was a great night! What could be better than family and Cita tacos?Tom said that Stacy and him went to the movies together and they had a good time! I was so thankful Tom was there to spend time with Stacy, Reese, Natalie, and Corely. Stacy is amazing in ALL she does! She is going through a difficult divorce and taking care of two special need kids, and her life is hard! Stacy ALWAYS puts Reese and Natalie first! Both of those kids are in every type of therapy along with different lessons such as horseback riding, swim and so on! Stacy is the very best mom ever! Stacy said it was great that she was able to barrow Tom for the weekend! I told her she could barrow him anytime!Stacy I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you! You are the best sister EVER!! What would I do without our long heart to heart talks we have! I wish I was as strong as you are! I love love love you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I pray this year to come will be easier! I know I have said this before but.... Try to be still and hold on to your PEACE and let the Lord fight for you! Again I love you with all my heart!
